Julio SandinoBorn in Nicaragua, based in New York City, Julio Sandino began his career as a make-up artist in the mid-90's assisting Francois Nars in both editorial and runway. For fifteen years, he was a member of the NARS artistry and training team and has represented the brand as an educator and knowledgeable brand expert, serving as a liaison between the high-fashion and consumer worlds.

As an artist, Julio has honed his talent and experience backstage on high-profile runway shows including Gianni Versace, Versus, Dolce & Gabbana, Marc Jacobs, Anna Sui, Herve Leger, Diane Von Furstenberg, Carolina Herrera, Marchesa and John Bartlett, where he created fashion-forward looks on the industry’s top models, including Naomi Campbell, Carolyn Murphy, Alek Wek and Erin O’Connor. He also has collaborated with top make up artists; Diane Kendal, Lisa Butler, and Pat McGrath.

Julio has worked on shows for designers Vivienne Westwood, Thakoon, Nicole Romano, J. Mendel, Chris Benz, and James Coviello. His work has also graced the pages of fashion’s top domestic and international publications including Italian Vogue, Condé Nast Traveler, British Vogue, British Marie Claire, Harpers Bazaar, The London Times, Japanese Vogue, Rolling Stone and Bolero, and he has demonstrated his talents on MTV and VH1. Advertising Campaigns for Domenico Vaca, and Lautrec Paris.

He has worked with noted photographers François Nars, David LaChapelle, BJ Formento, and Ursula Steiner, and his trademark style has earned him clients such as Angelina Jolie, Eva Longoria, Erykah Badu, Tilda Swinton, Eliza Dushku, Rachael Taylor, Lady Victoria De Rothschild, and The Rolling Stones.
